What DocuDojo is

DocuDojo is a free website for learning to use Microsoft Word like an expert, in English and Spanish. It grew out of a simple observation: almost everyone uses Word every day, almost nobody was ever taught to use it properly, and the result is hours lost fighting the formatting.

It is an independent project by Socotropo SL, published from Spain. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Microsoft.

Our mission

To get you to stop fixing documents by hand. Most of the time wasted in Word comes from not knowing a handful of ideas: styles, sections, fields, templates and Track Changes. Our job is to explain them in plain language, with concrete steps, the exact menu path and an illustration of each screen, so that every guide solves a real problem in a few minutes.

Who it is for

  • People who use Office every day and still change font sizes and bold by hand, heading by heading.
  • Students with a thesis, dissertation or long report that needs a table of contents, numbering and citations that update themselves.
  • Lawyers and professionals who write a lot: clause numbering that never breaks, Track Changes, version comparison and metadata-free documents.
  • Businesses that want the whole team writing with the same template and the same branding, without policing anyone.
  • People who ask AI for everything (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Copilot) and then suffer when they paste the text into Word. AI writes; you own the document.

What we cover

In Word, the guides are grouped into five areas: foundations nobody taught you, long and professional documents, corporate branding and templates, automating and collaborating, and Word + AI. If you prefer a set order, there are learning paths by profile (from scratch, theses and reports, lawyers, templates and branding, Word + AI), a glossary of the terms worth understanding, and a quiz to measure how much you really know. A good place to start is what styles are, the guide almost all the others depend on.

Since October 2026 there are Excel guides too: formulas you can copy, tables, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, Power Query, macros and Excel + AI, with their own paths, glossary and quiz. PowerPoint is in the works and will arrive with the same method and the same standards; there is no date yet.

Since November 2026 there is also a PDF section: editing text, merging and splitting pages, commenting, filling in and signing (including with a digital certificate), redacting data for real, recognizing the text of a scan and converting to Word or Excel. Every guide compares Adobe Acrobat with the free alternatives (Acrobat Reader, Word, PDF24, PdfCraft and Preview on a Mac) and tells you when paying is worth it.

How we make the guides

Each guide is written in English and Spanish as a native adaptation, not a literal translation. It is checked on Microsoft 365 (Word for Windows, with the interface in both languages) and includes notes for Mac. Every guide shows its last-updated date. We use AI tools to support the writing, and we review every guide by hand before it is published. Even so, Word changes and every version can differ: if you find a mistake, write to us and we fix it within days. The details are in our editorial policy.

How the site is funded

DocuDojo is free and is funded by Google AdSense advertising. Advertising has no say in which guides we write or what they say. There is no user registration, no newsletter and no comments. The only thing the site stores is, in your own browser, the preferences you choose: language, light or dark theme, guides marked as completed and your quiz result. That data never leaves your device. We explain it in our privacy policy.
