Privacy Policy

What data DocuDojo processes, why, on what legal basis and how to exercise your GDPR rights. No sign-up, no analytics; Google AdSense ads shown with your consent.

Last updated: November 2, 2026

DocuDojo is an educational website for learning Microsoft Word. This policy explains, in plain language, what data is processed when you visit docudojo.com, why, on what legal basis, and what rights you have. We operate from Spain and follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Spain's Organic Law 3/2018 on Personal Data Protection and Digital Rights (LOPDGDD).

The one-minute version

  • DocuDojo is a static website: no user accounts, no forms, no comments, no newsletter. You don't have to give us anything to read the guides.
  • We don't use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics tool.
  • Your browser stores a few preferences you choose (language, light or dark theme, completed guides, quiz score). They never leave your device.
  • We show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to show and measure ads. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your permission first, and you can say no.
  • The server that hosts the site keeps technical logs (IP address, date, page requested, browser) for security, for a limited time.
  • The only personal data we receive directly is what you choose to send us by email.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Full identification details are in the legal notice. For anything related to your data, write to hello@docudojo.com.

2. What data we process and where it comes from

2.1 What you send us by email

If you write to us (to report a mistake, make a suggestion, ask about advertising or exercise your rights), we process your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. We use it only to reply and follow the conversation. We never add your address to a mailing list.

2.2 Technical server logs

The site is hosted on servers run by Hostinger International Ltd., our hosting provider. Like any web server, it automatically logs each request: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating system. These logs are used to detect attacks, abuse and technical errors. They are kept for a limited time, and we don't combine them with any other information to identify you.

2.3 Preferences stored in your browser

So the site works the way you want, it saves these preferences in your browser's local storage (localStorage, which is not a cookie):

PreferenceWhat is storedWhy
LanguageThe language you chose (Spanish or English) and whether you dismissed the language suggestionTo suggest the version in your language and not ask you again
ThemeYour light or dark theme choiceTo show the site the way you left it
ProgressThe guides you mark as completedTo show your progress in the learning paths
QuizYour latest Word quiz scoreTo show your score when you come back

This is technical data: it contains nothing that identifies you, it never leaves your device, and we cannot see it. It is deleted when you clear your browsing data. Because it is strictly necessary for a feature you asked for, it is exempt from consent under the cookie guidance of the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD), but we would rather you knew about it.

2.4 Google AdSense advertising

DocuDojo is free and is funded by Google AdSense ads. To show and measure those ads, Google and its advertising partners may set cookies and use identifiers on your device. Depending on your choice, ads can be personalized (based on your interests and your activity on other sites) or non-personalized (based only on the content of the page and your approximate location).

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will see a consent banner (a Google-certified consent management platform) before any advertising cookie is loaded. You can accept, reject or fine-tune your choices, and change your mind at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, which reopens the banner. In other regions, local rules may apply; in California, for example, Google may show a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option.

We receive no data from Google that identifies you: only aggregate reports on impressions, clicks and earnings. How Google uses data when you visit a site that shows its ads is explained on its page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and the specific cookies are listed in our cookie policy.

2.5 What we don't do

  • We don't use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics.
  • We don't build user profiles or make automated decisions about you.
  • We don't sell or rent personal data to anyone.
  • We don't send newsletters or marketing emails.

3. Purposes, legal basis and retention

4. Who we share data with

We don't pass your data to third parties, except two providers the site cannot exist without:

  • Hostinger International Ltd., web hosting. It acts as our data processor for the server logs, under a contract that requires it to follow our instructions.
  • Google (Google Ireland Limited for users in Europe, and Google LLC), advertising through AdSense. For personalized ads, Google acts as an independent controller of the data it collects through its cookies, under its own advertising policies.

We may also disclose data to the authorities if the law requires it.

5. International transfers

Our hosting provider is based in the European Union. Google may process data in the United States and other countries. For those transfers, Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, which provide safeguards equivalent to those in Europe. The details are in Google's privacy policy.

6. Your rights

You can exercise these rights at any time:

  • Access: find out what data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete it.
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Restriction: ask us to stop using your data while a dispute is resolved.
  • Portability: receive your data in a commonly used format.
  • Withdrawing consent: change your advertising choice through "Cookie settings", without affecting what was done before.

To exercise them, email hello@docudojo.com and say which right you want to exercise. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask you to confirm it. We reply within one month, which the GDPR lets us extend for complex requests. In practice, since we store so little, the most we usually hold about anyone is the emails they have sent us.

If you think we haven't handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD). If you live in another EU country, you can go to your national authority; the European Data Protection Board publishes the full list.

7. How to control ads and cookies

  • Consent banner: reject or accept advertising cookies when it appears; to change your choice later, click "Cookie settings" in the footer.
  • Google ad settings: at adssettings.google.com you can turn off ad personalization for your Google account.
  • Other advertising partners: youronlinechoices.com (Europe) and aboutads.info (United States) let you opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at once.
  • Your browser: you can block or delete cookies in its settings; the site will keep working, but ads will be non-personalized. Google explains how on this help page.

If you block cookies, the banner may reappear on every visit, because your choice is itself stored in a cookie.

8. If you live outside the European Union

We apply the same rules to everyone, with these specifics:

  • United Kingdom and Switzerland: you also see the consent banner before any advertising cookie is loaded, and you have equivalent rights under the UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.
  • United States (California and other states with privacy laws): DocuDojo does not sell personal information. Google's advertising cookies may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA/CPRA; where the law requires it, Google shows a notice with a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option so you can opt out. You also have the right to know, correct and delete the information we hold about you, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Email us at hello@docudojo.com.
  • Other countries: if your local law gives you additional rights, you can exercise them through the same email address.

9. Children

DocuDojo's content is suitable for all ages, but the site is not aimed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal data by email, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because we have no user database and no forms, the risk is minimal: the only personal data in our hands is the email we receive, kept in a mailbox that only the site owner can access.

11. Changes to this policy

If we add features (such as a newsletter or a contact form) or change providers, we will update this page and the date at the top. We cannot notify you any other way, because we don't have your contact details, so we recommend checking back now and then.

12. Contact
